Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Scentl ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law. We are the data controller for the personal data you provide to us.

Information we collect

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information you provide when you create an account, place an order, request a quote, or contact us (such as your name, company, billing and delivery address, email address and phone number).
  • Transaction details of orders you place with us.
  • Technical data such as your IP address, browser type and details of your visits to our website.

We do not store full card details — payments are processed securely by our payment provider.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to make it work and to remember your preferences (such as your cart and VAT display). Optional analytics cookies are only set if you allow them (see "Analytics" below). You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but some parts of the site may not function properly as a result.

Analytics

We always measure how our website is used with privacy-friendly, first-party analytics. This layer is anonymous and cookieless: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and never collects your name, email, address or payment details. It records only aggregate, non-identifying information (such as page views, approximate location by country, referring site and device type) so we can understand overall traffic and improve the shop. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our service for this anonymous measurement, and because it does not identify you, it runs for all visitors.

Separately, with your consent we also use Google Analytics, a third-party service that sets cookies. This runs only if you opt in via our cookie banner, and you can withdraw your consent at any time from "Cookie settings" — doing so stops Google Analytics for you, while the anonymous first-party analytics above continues. You can review these choices whenever you like.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Process and fulfil your orders and provide customer support.
  • Manage your account and, where you have credit terms, your account balance.
  • Send you service messages relating to your orders.
  • Send you marketing about similar products where you have not opted out (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Improve our website and services.

We rely on the lawful bases of contract, legitimate interests and, where required, consent.

Sharing your information

We share your information only with service providers who help us run our business (such as payment processors, delivery carriers and our accounting software), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

How we store your data

We hold your data securely and retain it only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out above, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. While we take appropriate measures to protect your data, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
